Today on our 2010 GMC Sierra we're going to take a look at and also show you how to install the Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera and Hitch Aligner System. Part number is HM50002. Now, the need for this style backup camera is going to come for the truck or a vehicle that's not equipped with one, and you have trouble backing up to either your trailer by yourself or to other objects. With the camera system in place, as soon as you shift into reverse the camera's going to come on. See in the pattern that we currently have there it's more of a rectangular block system. That's going to be for backing up to items. Then we also, just by the hit of a button there we can switch it to the hitch line. more

Mechanic: Today, on our 2009 GMC Sierra, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera and Hitch Aligner System, part number HM50002. Here's what it looks like once it's installed, let's go ahead and show you how it works when it's in action. Now, as we're backing up to our trailer, you'll see we have it in our hitch liner mode. As you get closer, it'll start to flash in the green. That's going to mean that we're between 3 1/2 and 5 1/2 feet away. Once we get to yellow, that's going to put us within a 1 1/2 to 3 1/2 feet. Once we've reached red, it means we're right about under our ball and we can lower our trailer onto our ball mount. more

All right. Today on this 2005 GMC Sierra Crew Cab, we're going to install part number HM27512VA. This is a Hopkins Trailblazer Electronic Deer Alert. We can go ahead and try it out. First thing we're going to do is run our wires from our switch to the outside. This is turn to alert off and on, and what I'm going to do is take two ends or two wires, one's shorter than the other, I want to tape them together and then pull both wires through the firewall. We'll go ahead and run this through an existing grommet in the firewall. All right, we're going to use the small grommet right here. more

Today in our 2008 GMC Acadia, we're going to be installing the Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera and Hitch Aligner System, part number HM50002.In addition to the backup camera, we're also going to need to use the Hopkins Extension Cable for Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Cameras in a 25-foot length, part number HM3100504061.Next, let's go ahead and show you how the camera works. I will go ahead and put the vehicle in reverse. You'll see as soon as it goes in reverse the backup camera comes on. When you shift it out of reverse, it goes off immediately.Now, we've switched over to the hitch line mode. By simply pushing on the button on the side you can adjust it to hitch line mode on or off. This right here is the standard backup mode. more

Today on our 2007 GMC Sierra, we'll be installing the Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera with Hitch Aligner system, part number HM50002. We'll first need to install the camera mounting bracket. To do that, we'll first remove the old fasteners that hold the license plate in place. Because of the width of the bracket we'll need to use the new fasteners supplied with the install kit to resecure the license plate and bracket. We'll take the new mounting bracket and set up our wire first. The wire will come off of the bracket for the sensors and camera. We'll be able to run it through the manufacturer's cut out behind the license plate. more

Peak Wireless Backup Camera Installation - 2006 GMC Envoy

Today on our 2006 GMC Envoy we'll be installing the Peak Performance Rearview Mirror Backup Camera System, part number pkc0rg. The first step of our install would be to take the backup camera and bracket and install it underneath the license plate. To do this we'll remove the two fasteners. To remove the license plate put the camera in position and reinstall the license plate with the two fasteners.Next we'll need to route the wire inside. To do this we'll go ahead and open up the rear cargo door and start removing the interior trim panels. There'll be two just on the rear cargo door to start. more
